Teenager Injured in Shooting at Northwest High School in Omaha; Multiple Schools on Lockdown

Omaha police are investigating a shooting that injured a teenager at Northwest High School. The incident, which occurred near 82nd Street and Crown Point Avenue, led to the school being placed on lockdown. Marian High School and Roncalli Catholic High School were also locked down as a precaution.

The 15-year-old victim was critically injured and transported to the hospital. Authorities are currently searching for a suspect described as “young,” though no further details have been provided. An individual believed to be the suspect has been taken into custody.

As of 1:06 p.m., the school is secure, and Omaha Public Schools are coordinating with law enforcement to keep parents updated with the latest information
