FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado Buffaloes made key adjustments to their offensive line, maintained a solid defensive front, and once again, relied on the electric play of two-way star Travis Hunter to secure a 28-9 win over Colorado State on Saturday at Canvas Stadium. In front of a packed crowd of 40,099, the Buffs continued their dominance in this heated in-state rivalry.

Hunter was a standout, hauling in 13 catches for 100 yards and two touchdowns. The reworked offensive line played a crucial role, allowing quarterback Shedeur Sanders to stay protected, surrendering just one sack compared to the six he endured in last week’s loss to Nebraska.

Sanders put up impressive numbers, completing 36 of 49 passes for 310 yards and four touchdowns. For Colorado, the victory offered some relief after last week’s rough showing. A second consecutive loss would have sparked doubts about the Buffs’ progress under head coach Deion Sanders, now in his second year.

Instead, Colorado (2-1) took control early, leading 14-3 at halftime, and saw stellar performances from Hunter and Sanders to carry them through. The win marks Colorado’s seventh consecutive victory over Colorado State and sets them on the right path as they prepare for their Big 12 Conference opener at home next week against Baylor.

The Buffs now hold a commanding 69-22-2 lead in the all-time series against the Rams.
