“I love the adrenaline rush. I love being scared,” Berry shared during an interview with CBS Mornings. “I love the unpredictability, especially with psychological horror like this.”

Describing the film as layered and emotionally complex, Berry explained that love and dysfunction intertwine in the story. Her character, a mother, faces questions from her young son, who begins to wonder if his mother is truly okay.

“What I love about this role is that it’s a different kind of mother—darker, more complicated. She’s a woman dealing with trauma that was passed down to her. It’s something many women, many mothers experience, doing the best they can,” Berry reflected.

The actress also shared that the film’s eerie atmosphere extended beyond the screen. “We shot in a real house in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by forest—and bears,” she laughed. “During the day, it was magical, but at night, when the bears came out, it became terrifying.”

With a career spanning roles in Die Another Day, Catwoman, the X-Men series, and her Oscar-winning performance in Monster’s Ball, Berry has had her share of iconic roles. But beyond acting, she’s using her platform to advocate for women’s health, especially regarding menopause.

“I found out I was in menopause in the worst possible way. I was diagnosed with herpes instead of recognizing the symptoms of menopause,” Berry revealed. She emphasized the importance of destigmatizing women’s health by openly discussing it.

“It’s a privilege to age,” Berry said. “We have to stop trying to stay eternally 30. We’re turning into monsters trying to hold onto that. We need to understand that we’re more than just the bodies we walk around in.”

On a personal note, Berry is in a happy relationship with musician Van Hunt. Reflecting on her journey, she shared how she spent four years alone before meeting him. “It was by choice—I needed to work on myself. And I’m so glad I took that time.”

Berry’s journey, both on-screen and off, showcases her strength, resilience, and dedication to being true to herself.
