Oasis Announces North American Tour Dates for 2025: US, Canada, and Mexico
Oasis has officially announced a series of North American tour dates as part of their highly anticipated reunion, set for August and September 2025. The iconic Britpop band will be performing in major cities across the US, Canada, and Mexico, marking their first concerts in these regions since 2008.
The tour dates follow a wave of mysterious billboard teasers that appeared in cities like New York, Toronto, and Chicago, featuring the cryptic message: “Be careful what you wish for.” Fans had been speculating for months, and now, the band has confirmed stops at some of the largest venues in North America.
Key tour dates include:
- Toronto, Rogers Stadium – 24 August
- Chicago, Soldier Field – 28 August
- New Jersey, MetLife Stadium – 31 August
- Los Angeles, Rose Bowl Stadium – 6 September
- Mexico City, Estadio GNP Seguros – 12 September
US rock band Cage the Elephant will join Oasis as the supporting act for the North American leg of the tour.
Oasis Returns After 17 Years
The North American concerts will be Oasis’s first in these territories since 2008, when they toured in support of Dig Out Your Soul. Their history in the US, particularly, is legendary for its chaotic moments. The band’s 1994-95 American tour promoting Definitely Maybe became infamous, especially after a disorderly, alcohol-fueled gig at Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles that led to Noel Gallagher briefly quitting the band.
Sold-Out UK and Ireland Shows
The North American dates follow the band’s already sold-out UK and Ireland tour, which saw unprecedented demand. Originally set for 14 shows, five additional dates were added, including two extra nights at Wembley Stadium, to meet fan demand. The first round of ticket sales in August was plagued with technical issues and left many fans without tickets despite hours of queuing.
To address the frustration, the band announced a staggered, invitation-only ballot for the new Wembley shows, prioritizing fans who missed out during the initial sale.
Ticket Pricing Controversy
However, the band’s UK tour wasn’t without controversy. Fans were angered by Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing policy, which saw standing tickets initially priced at £135 spike to as much as £337.50 due to high demand. In response to the uproar, Oasis clarified that they had no prior knowledge of Ticketmaster’s use of dynamic pricing for their shows.
“Inevitably, interest in this tour is so overwhelming that it’s impossible to schedule enough shows to meet demand,” the band said in a statement. They distanced themselves from the ticket pricing strategy, stating that decisions on pricing were made solely by promoters and management, not by the band themselves.
Dynamic Pricing Debate
Ticketmaster defended its use of dynamic pricing, arguing that it aligns prices with market demand and helps deter ticket reselling. However, the issue has caught the attention of UK lawmakers, who have announced plans to review dynamic pricing as part of a broader investigation into ticketing practices. Consumer advocates, including the group Which?, have called for refunds for fans who paid inflated prices.
Liam Gallagher, never one to shy away from controversy, responded to fan complaints about pricing on social media. In typical Liam fashion, he told one unhappy fan to “shut up” and cheekily suggested another should purchase “kneeling tickets.”
What’s Next?
As fans prepare for the North American leg of the tour, the demand is expected to mirror the frenzy seen in the UK. While the full extent of ticket pricing and policies for the US, Canada, and Mexico remains unclear, fans are encouraged to act fast when tickets go on sale, as demand is certain to be sky-high.
Oasis’s return to North America promises to be one of the year’s most talked-about musical events, offering fans a chance to experience the band’s electrifying performances once again.
