Verizon is investigating a service outage that led to over 100,000 disruption reports on Monday morning.
As of around 11 a.m. ET, more than 100,000 customers reported being without service, according to Downdetector, a platform that monitors tech outages.
“We’re aware of an issue affecting service for some customers,” said Verizon spokesperson Ilya Hemlin in a statement to USA TODAY. “Our engineers are working swiftly to resolve the problem.”
Users quickly took to social media to voice their concerns about the outage. One X user wrote, “Is @Verizon down for anyone else? My service dropped at 10 a.m., and nothing—restarting or toggling airplane mode—seems to restore the signal.”
Verizon’s customer service account, @VerizonSupport, responded to numerous reports of service disruptions on X.
