Six people have been killed in a combined shooting and knife attack in Tel Aviv, Israeli police have confirmed. At least nine others have been injured, with several in critical condition.
According to police, the attack started aboard a train and continued onto the platform. Social media images show the gunman firing at bystanders in the Jaffa area. Two attackers were reportedly “neutralized” by civilians at the scene, with authorities labeling the incident as an act of “terror.”
Details of the attack are still emerging, and the identities of the perpetrators have not been disclosed. Some Israeli media outlets initially reported eight fatalities, but it is unclear if that number included the attackers.
The shooting took place shortly before a separate Iranian missile strike began against Israel. Missiles and defense rockets were visible in the sky above the scene in the moments following the attack.
