Apple’s annual iPhone event not only brought exciting news for the iPhone lineup but also introduced two new AirPod models. The AirPods 4 and a more advanced version, AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), were unveiled, adding to the ever-growing range of Apple earbuds.
One of the standout features of the new AirPods is the inclusion of USB-C charging for the cases, aligning them with the latest iPhone and iPad models. This change marks a significant step towards standardization across Apple devices. Additionally, the AirPods 4 have undergone design refinements to improve their fit, making them more comfortable for extended use.
Both versions are powered by the H2 chip, which promises an enhanced sound experience. Users will benefit from features such as personalized spatial audio, voice isolation, and even gesture-based Siri controls—like nodding your head to make adjustments. Battery life for these models clocks in at an impressive 30 hours.
The AirPods 4 with ANC might look similar to the standard version, but it comes packed with additional features, including active noise cancellation and wireless charging. Both models are available for preorder now and will start shipping on September 20. The AirPods 4 are priced at $129, while the AirPods 4 with ANC come in at $179.
In addition to the new AirPods, Apple finally announced an update to the AirPods Max over-ear headphones after a four-year wait. The refreshed model now supports USB-C charging and is available in new colors like black, blue, purple, and orange. However, there was no news on a refresh for the AirPods Pro, which many have been eagerly anticipating.
