A recent exchange between 670 The Score host Dan Bernstein and Barstool Sports personality Eddie has sparked a major backlash from Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy. Portnoy, known as “El Presidente,” has called on Barstool fans to flood the phone lines of the Audacy Chicago sports talk station in response to Bernstein’s reaction during a broadcast.

The incident began when Eddie, who was hosting the afternoon drive show alongside Matt Spiegel, asked Bernstein if he was “a horoscope guy.” Bernstein’s response, “You can call me Dan, or you can call me Bernsy, but you don’t know me like that,” seemed to amuse Eddie. However, Bernstein’s displeasure became evident when he was later asked by Laurence Holmes about Eddie’s use of his last name. Bernstein’s visibly irritated reaction was captured on social media.

Portnoy responded with a video on X, urging Barstool fans, or “Stoolies,” to target Bernstein with harassment, saying, “Stoolies have never had a more important war than to ruin this guy’s life (professionally speaking of course).” He also expressed his frustration, calling Bernstein “a miserable (expletive)” and urging fans to “harass the fu** out of this guy until his dying breath.”

Eddie, reflecting on the interaction, mentioned that his use of Bernstein’s last name was not intended to provoke. He explained that he could not see Bernstein’s reaction due to being at a remote location and was surprised by the level of animosity. Eddie noted that Bernstein has had a longstanding dislike for Barstool Sports, which may have influenced his reaction.

As of now, neither Dan Bernstein nor 670 The Score has publicly commented on the situation. Portnoy’s call for action has further fueled the controversy, highlighting the ongoing tensions between Barstool Sports and traditional media figures.
