What a rough first half for one of college football’s top conferences.

Nebraska moved past midfield on all six of its possessions but failed to score a single point. Purdue crossed the 50-yard line just once, with the same result.

Nebraska faced several fourth-down decisions in Purdue territory due to an unreliable kicking game. The Huskers opted to punt twice inside the Boilermakers’ 40-yard line and missed three field goals, two of which were blocked.

Neither team converted a third down until Purdue finally managed it with just over four minutes left in the half, though that drive still ended with a punt — one of four by the Boilermakers. Purdue did get into field goal range once, but missed the attempt.

Both teams combined for 12 penalties, totaling 129 yards.

Purdue will receive the ball to start the second half.
