First announced in November 2022, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers have just added a third year of shows in support of their latest album, 72 Seasons. This leg features six “no-repeat weekends” — two different concerts on either Thursday and Saturday or Friday and Sunday with unique setlists and opening acts — and six “one night only” performances.
For fans near New York, the closest “no-repeat weekend” will be held at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field. On Friday, May 23, Metallica will be joined by Limp Bizkit and Ice Nine Kills. Two days later, on Sunday, May 25, Pantera and Suicidal Tendencies will take the stage.
Before that, Metallica will play a “one night only” concert at Syracuse’s JMA Wireless Dome on Saturday, April 19, with Pantera and Suicidal Tendencies as the evening’s special guests.
According to Consequence, these “one-off” shows will feature the tour’s full production, complete with a massive in-the-round stage.
In August 2023, New York Post metalhead Ryan Murphy reviewed Metallica’s two M72 shows at MetLife Stadium, praising the band for delivering “everything you’d want to hear” without repeating songs across both nights. Despite promoting their new record, they still played plenty of fan favorites.
Tickets for all upcoming M72 dates are available on secondary markets like Vivid Seats, with the official on-sale for 2025 shows starting Friday, September 27. Prices may vary based on demand, but Vivid Seats guarantees safe and secure transactions, with tickets delivered before the event.
