The anticipation surrounding the fourth installment of Marvel’s “Spider-Man” franchise has been building for years, and fans are eagerly awaiting any news or updates on the highly anticipated film. Now, thanks to a recent revelation from Tom Holland, the star of the series, we have a tantalizing glimpse into what’s to come.
During an appearance on the “Rich Roll” podcast, Holland shared that he and his girlfriend and co-star, Zendaya, recently sat down together to read over the script for the next “Spider-Man” film. The couple’s reaction to the script was nothing short of enthusiastic, with Holland describing it as “a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect.”

“We at times were like bouncing around the living room,” Holland revealed on the show, which aired Thursday, October 17. “It needs work but the writers are doing a great job,” he went on, adding that “it really lit a fire in me.”
Holland has played Peter Parker/Spider-Man opposite Zendaya’s MJ since 2017, and their chemistry on screen has captivated audiences worldwide. The franchise’s most recent film, 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” was a massive success, introducing previous Spider-Man actors Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire, as well as their respective villains and love interests, into the same universe.
Both Holland and Zendaya have kept busy since the last film’s release. Holland starred in the West End production of “Romeo and Juliet,” while Zendaya has been busy with box office hits like “Challengers” and “Dune: Part 2.” She is also expected to resume filming for her HBO drama “Euphoria” in the new year.
While most details about “Spider-Man 4” are still being kept under wraps, Holland did shed some light on the challenges of fitting the film into the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline. “With Marvel, your film is a small cog in a large machine,” he explained. “You have to make sure you can fit into that timeline at the right time to benefit the bigger picture. That’s one of the challenges we’re facing. The time in which we need to get that done is a tall order, but definitely achievable.”
Based on Holland and Zendaya’s positive reaction to the script, fans can rest assured that the fourth “Spider-Man” film is shaping up to be something truly special. With the talented duo at the helm and a promising script in place, the movie has all the ingredients to be another blockbuster hit.
