Former Trump White House adviser Steve Bannon was released from federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut, on Tuesday morning, just a week before Election Day. Bannon, a prominent figure in the MAGA movement, hosts the popular “War Room” podcast, which has become a powerful platform on the right.

He was convicted of contempt of Congress in July 2022 for defying a subpoena from the January 6 select committee investigating the Capitol riot. Despite his four months in incarceration, Bannon expressed feeling “amazing and more importantly empowered” upon his release.
Bannon predicted a significant victory for former President Trump, stating he believes Trump “will win big.” Bannon also mentioned having “no regrets” regarding his handling of the situation that led to his conviction.
Additionally, Bannon faces ongoing criminal charges in New York state court related to allegations of duping donors who contributed to building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. He has pleaded not guilty to charges including money laundering, conspiracy, and fraud, with a trial scheduled for December.
Following his release, Bannon is set to host his podcast and hold a news conference in Manhattan.
