Hill is expected to play in the Dolphins’ season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to the team.

Sources informed ESPN’s Jeff Darlington that Hill was stopped for speeding and then engaged in a verbal altercation with officers, leading to his being handcuffed. Hill was ultimately cited for reckless driving.

In an interview with ESPN, Hill’s agent Drew Rosenhaus called the situation “heartbreaking” and “completely unnecessary.” Rosenhaus emphasized that they would investigate the matter and ensure Hill wasn’t mistreated, expressing shock over the sight of his client in handcuffs.

“We will look out for Tyreek,” Rosenhaus said, adding he was relieved that Hill is okay and expressed gratitude to the team for helping to deescalate the situation.

Earlier Sunday, video footage surfaced showing Hill being placed in handcuffs, surrounded by multiple police officers.
